Who Can Complete a Tenant Screening?
Tenants must have a valid U.S. Social Security number because Tenant Screening uses U.S. records.
If a tenant doesn't have a U.S. Social Security number, landlords may consider other ways to evaluate whether they can meet the rental terms, such as proof of employment, bank statements from the last 3-6 months, or references from previous landlords or hosts.
How Does Tenant Screening Work?
The landlord sends a Tenant Screening Request to a prospective tenant. The tenant completes and pays for the screening, and the landlord can review the results once they're ready.
Most results are ready within a few hours. In rare cases, where a specific jurisdiction requires manually pulling records, it may take up to five business days.
