Communication Standards

Ensuring respectful and safe interactions on Furnished Finder 

At Furnished Finder, we are committed to fostering a respectful, safe, and professional marketplace for travelers and property owners. These Communication Standards help maintain a trustworthy community and apply to all users of the platform. 

Scope and Applicability 

These standards apply to all communications exchanged through Furnished Finder, including interactions between travelers, landlords, property managers, and hosts. They also apply to conduct that originates on the platform, even if continued off-platform, when related to Furnished Finder transactions or interactions. 

Expected Behavior 

All users are expected to: 

  • Use respectful, professional, and courteous language 

  • Provide accurate, truthful, and non-misleading information 

  • Respond in a timely and constructive manner 

  • Engage in good-faith efforts to resolve questions or concerns 

Prohibited Conduct 

The following behaviors are not permitted on Furnished Finder. 

Abusive or Hostile Language 

Including, but not limited to: 

  • Insults, name-calling, or belittling statements 

  • Yelling, excessive use of capitalization (“shouting”), or verbal attacks 

  • Aggressive, threatening, or intimidating language or tone 

Harassment or Targeted Abuse 

Including: 

  • Repeated, unwanted, or intrusive messages 

  • Attempts to intimidate, coerce, pressure, or manipulate another user 

  • Vulgar, threatening, or demeaning content 

  • Discriminatory, hateful, or exclusionary behavior 

Furnished Finder maintains strict anti-discrimination standards. Communications that target or demean individuals or groups based on protected characteristics—such as race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, or any other status protected under applicable law—are strictly prohibited. 

Retaliation 

Retaliation of any kind is prohibited. This includes any attempt to threaten, intimidate, harass, or penalize a user for: 

  • Reporting a concern or policy violation 

  • Leaving or intending to leave a review 

  • Contacting Furnished Finder Support or Trust & Safety 

 Enforcement and Consequences 

Violations of these Communication Standards may result in enforcement action. Depending on the severity, frequency, and context of the conduct, Furnished Finder may, in its sole discretion: 

  • Issue educational guidance, notices, or warnings 

  • Temporarily restrict or suspend messaging capabilities 

  • Suspend, deactivate, or remove one or more listings 

  • Temporarily or permanently suspend or terminate a user account 

We assess behavior holistically, including patterns of conduct, and do not evaluate messages in isolation.  

Reporting Inappropriate Behavior 

If you experience or observe abusive, threatening, or inappropriate communication: 

  1. Submit a report by visiting Reporting a Landlord or Reporting a Traveler, depending on who the concern is about.

  1. Provide screenshots, message links, or other relevant documentation when available. 

  1. Our Trust & Safety team will review the report and take action consistent with these standards and our Terms of Service

While we review all reports seriously, we may not be able to share the outcome of every investigation.
