After you submit a Housing Request, eligible landlords with properties matching your travel details and housing preferences can view your request and contact you through Furnished Finder.
While you wait to hear from landlords, there are several ways you can continue your housing search.
Browse Available Listings
A Housing Request is just one way to find housing. We recommend browsing available listings or through AI search tool, Find It With Fern, and contacting landlords directly to maximize your housing options.
Review Your Housing Request Matches
Furnished Finder may identify properties that closely match your Housing Request. You can review these matches from My Requests and contact landlords if you're interested.

Respond to Landlords
If a landlord contacts you, we encourage you to reply, even if the property isn't the right fit. A quick response, such as "No, thank you," lets the landlord know you've moved on and helps create a better experience for everyone.
Keep Your Request Up to Date
If your travel plans or housing preferences change, update your Housing Request so landlords see your most current information.
If you no longer need your request because your plans have changed, you can cancel it.

What If I Don't Receive Messages?
The number of landlord inquiries you receive depends on factors such as:
- Your destination
- Your move-in date
- Your budget
- Your requested stay length
- Housing availability in your area
Even if you don't receive messages right away, continue browsing listings and contacting landlords directly to maximize your housing options.
Found Housing?
Once you've secured housing, whether through Furnished Finder or another source, update your request status to Housing Found from My Requests. This lets landlords know you no longer need housing, helps reduce messages about available properties, and keeps your inbox focused on active housing opportunities.
