How Travelers Create Housing Requests

Travelers who prefer not to search the Furnished Finder map manually or with our AI search tool, Find It With Fern, can submit a Housing Request form. This request notifies property owners in the selected area, and those with available properties matching your criteria can reach out directly.

  1. Access the Housing Request Form:
  2. Enter Basic Information: Provide details about your housing needs, including:
    • Traveler Type: Indicate whether you're an individual traveler or an agency.
    • Reason for Travel: Select a reason from the dropdown menu.
    • Employer Information: Enter the name of your company. This is optional.
    • Move-in and Move-out dates: Select your dates from the calendar.
    • Location: Choose a city and a state from the dropdown menus.
  3. Apply Housing Filters:
    • Number of occupants
    • Number of bedrooms needed
    • Property type (e.g., private unit, shared unit, hotel)
    • Budget
    • Pet accommodations (if applicable)
  4. Adjust Search Radius and Additional Filters:
    • Select a radius to include nearby cities.
    • Optional housing filters update property matches dynamically. If too few matches appear, we'll suggest removing some filters.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Enter Contact Details:
    • Provide your first and last name, email, and phone number.
    • Choose how you'd like to be contacted by landlords.
    • Add personal and occupational details to improve response rates from property owners.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. Choose Payment Preferences: Indicate whether you’d like to pay move-in costs and rent with a credit card.
  9. Confirmation Screen:
    • Click Go Now! to view matched properties.
    • New users will see a welcome message with their username.
    • Clicking OK takes you to the property results page, showing available rentals on a map and in a list.

Please note: Furnished Finder encourages professional and polite communication between travelers and property owners. When declining offers, even a simple "No, thank you" is appreciated!
